When choosing Hearts at Home Pet Sitting, you are choosing a pet care company that is independently owned and operated by an experienced pet care professional. The founder, Caméa Allen, started Hearts at Home Pet Sitting, out of a desire to fill a need in her community for alternative pet care for pet parents and their companion animals. Our highly qualified team of pet care specialists have a heart for animals and are dedicated to our clientele experiencing confidence, peace of mind and feeling guilt-free when they are apart from their pet family. While in our care, we make a commitment to ensure your pet feels loved, happy, comfortable and safe. Their well-being is our utmost priority!
We understand that each pet and their daily routine is unique, and tailor our visits to fit your pet and their needs. We offer Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Cat Care, and Puppy Care visits. We are the guilt free alternative to boarding your pets at the kennel or imposing on friends and family.
As a licensed professional pet care company, each member of our team is background vetted, bonded and covered by Pet Care insurance. Along with ongoing education in pet behavior and safety, we are Pet CPR/First Aid and Fear Free Certified. We are a member of Pet Sitters International, The Pet Professional Guild, and National Association of Professional Pet Sitter. Of all the credentials that distinguish us over and above the competition, honesty, integrity and compassion are the virtues we cherish most!
Hearts at Home Pet Sitting is located in Yorktown, Virginia and proudly serves the most loved pets and their people in the Tabb, Grafton, Seaford, Kiln Creek, and Poquoson areas. We also serve areas of Newport News and Hampton that are located just outside of Yorktown.

Caméa Allen
Founder/Pet Care Specialist
Caméa grew up in New Jersey where dogs and cats have always been a part of her life. After 15 years as an Army Wife, her family settled in Yorktown, VA where they have resided since 2007.
Since an early age, Caméa has had a great love for all animals and it was only natural for her growing family to always have pets. During her 29 years of marriage, Caméa has been a pet parent to eight fabulous dogs, four cats, ten hamsters (seven at the same time) and numerous fish. Most were rescues and all were incredibly loved. She has volunteered at shelters, fostered several rescue dogs and always stops for an animal in need. Knowing her love for animals, her friends would never hesitate to have her care for their own pets.
After working for a professional pet sitting company for a short period of time, Caméa decided to venture out on her own. In 2012, Caméa started Hearts at Home Pet Sitting and has continued to provide professional and compassionate care to Hearts at Home’s clients in the comfort of their own home ever since! She forms strong bonds with the pets in her care and usually has proven success in getting fearful dogs and cats to warm up to her.
Caméa believes our pets are important and beloved members of our family; they bring love, companionship, and security. Our pets deserve the BEST when their families cannot be there. Therefore, she continues ongoing education in pet care, dog training and keeps up to date with new developments in animal behavior. Each year she attends both in person and online conferences in the pet and business industries. The strong compassion and empathy Caméa feels for animals helps her understand the valuable role companion animals play in our lives.
Kristie
Pet Care Specialist
As a lifelong resident of Yorktown, Virginia, Kristie’s love and passion for animals began with a childhood Cocker Spaniel named Samantha. Dogs and cats have been a part of her life ever since! Now with a family of her own, her love of animals continues, as her pet family includes two rescue dogs, Odin and Ben.
Kristie worked at a veterinary hospital for five years and learned to care for a wide range of animals. She then became a Certified Nursing Assistant working with elderly patients in a long-term care facility before transitioning into home health care, assisting patients with their daily needs in the comfort of their homes. Kristie missed working with animals and now as a Pet Care Specialist with Hearts at Home Pet Sitting, she is able to combine her veterinary and health care experience with her love of animals! Kristie believes pets are members of the family and promises to treat your fur babies with all the love and compassion they deserve!
LynnDee
Pet Care Specialist
Growing up in Yorktown, Virginia, dogs and bunnies have always been a part of LynnDee's life! She cannot imagine a life without animals; she and her husband’s pet family continues to grow through rescuing. They currently have 4 rabbits, 2 cats, and 2 dogs!
LynnDee believes pets are an invaluable part of the family, As your Pet Care Specialist, she promises to provide your pet family members with the compassion and love they deserve.
